This E-Waste Disposal Guide was created by the Digital Literacy, Inclusion and Safety Council in order to discuss tips and measures on what to do with gadgets that piled up, how to find local waste management department, and other ways of disposing electronics and devices.
Carbon Footprint Calculator
The EPA's carbon footprint calculator determines the carbon footprint of a household and calculated the positive impacts of making sustainable lifestyle chances such as using power saver settings on a computer and lowering the heat in the winter.
Power Profiler
The EPA's Power Profiler outputs the source of the selected region's energy into categories such as hydropower and coal and then uses this information to estimate the specific carbon output.
Google's Project Sunroof
Google's Project Sunroof predicts the potential quality of solar power at a specific residence based on factors such as weather, location, and tree density. It is a good place to start if you are interested in installing solar energy at your house, but are not sure where to begin.
Earth911.org
Earth911.org provides information about where and how to recycle almost all possible waste materials. The site has an easy to search database of recycling centers organized by zipcode and what materials they accept.
Power Management Savings Calculator
ENERGY STAR's excel-based Computer Power Management Savings Calculator estimates the environmental and financial savings from activating power management settings on computers. Unlike similar products, the ENERGY STAR calculator takes into account regional energy costs and the level of power settings already activated on the devices.
